Při návštěvě předsedkyně americké Sněmovny reprezentantů Nancy Pelosi na Tchaj-wanu mě napadla slova mého otce. Řekl mu je kdysi jeho kamarád. Pamatuj si. Před komunistou jsi v bezpečí jen tehdy, pokud je deset metrů pod zemí. Pravda a víc než pravda. Zvlášť když se podíváme na čínské komunistické lotry kteří utiskují dlouhá léta svůj národ. Ale oni nejsou pod zemí. Stoupají stále výš. A proč tomu tak je?

Mohli tam být už v té době, kdy se dostal Mao v Číně k moci. Stačilo ho zničit hospodářsky. A nemusel padnout jediný výstřel. Západní státy v čele s USA nic nedělaly. Jejich představitelé jen nadávali a posléze se s tím smířili. Nakonec s ní začali obchodovat a přesouvat tam výrobu citlivých technologií, aby ušetřili na pracovní síle. To se jim vrátilo jako bunerang. Vyčuraní čínští komunisté jim je ukradli a začali je používat k vlastnímu prospěchu. Zbrojili, a teď Západu vyhrožují.

Semena, která tím západní demokracie zasely, vzklíčila do závratných výšin. Diktátor Si je stále drzejší. Hrozí. Retorika všech dikrátorů. Ten kdo si hraje s ohněm je právě on. Nezvládl pandemii a teď chce válčit, aby tím zakryl svojí neschopnost. Chce být doživotním vládcem. To se nikomu v dějinách nevyplatilo. Chce zalést do bunkru a přežit se svými kumpány případnou světovou válku? Nepřežije. A tak si dnes může Západ lízat rány jen z toho, co sám zasel.

My father’s words came to mind when US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan. His friend once told him. Remember. You are only safe from a communist if he is ten meters underground. The truth and more than the truth. Especially when we look at the Chinese communist thugs who have been oppressing their nation for many years. But they are not underground. They rise higher and higher. And why is that so?

They could have been there already at the time when Mao came to power in China. It was enough to destroy him economically. And not a single shot had to be fired. Western countries, led by the USA, did nothing. Their representatives only scolded and then put up with it. Eventually, they began trading with it and moving production of sensitive technologies there to save on labor. This came back as a bunerang. Pissed off Chinese communists stole it from them and started using it for their own benefit. They armed, and now they threaten the West.

The seeds sown by Western democracies have sprouted to dizzying heights. Dictator Xi is getting more and more insolent. It threatens. The rhetoric of all announcers. He is the one playing with fire. He failed the pandemic and now he wants to go to war to cover up his incompetence. He wants to be the ruler for life. That has never paid off for anyone in history. Does he want to hide in a bunker and survive a possible world war with his buddies? He won’t survive. And so today the West can only lick its wounds from what it has sown.
